Hunkering Down

We got the camper all set up right out the back door of the house and are settling in for the long haul. Talk about redneck!
The temperature in the house right now is 98 degrees, in the camper it's 75.
Depending on how much it will cost to fix the house AC will depend on how long we live in the camper. It may take a month or so for me to save up enough money and to sell enough stuff to get a new unit if it needs replacing. The AC guy will be out sometime this week to let us know.

  1. May the weather and the a/c guy have mercy on you and yours, Redneck. Fall is around the corner. I hope the a/c problem is a simple (CHEAP) fix.

  3. Good luck with the AC, redneck. I live in a trailer and these things are like living in a metal can; they collect sunlight. In the summertime, the southern exposure warms the side so much that you take a chance of getting burned when you grab the door knob to come in. Next summer I thought I would try planting my garden so that the plants shade that side some what:) The nice thing about it is in the winter time I gain heat through that side:)

We wanted to put in whole house AC, but we couldn't afford it, so I know what you are going through. We have two window units going and they are such a waste of energy....not nearly as efficient as whole house and it drives the electric bill into outer space:( So we only turn it on when we absolutely must. Ah well, someday, maybe we will be able to get whole house AC:)

  4. Thanks for the comments. One way or the other these things will work themselves out. Maybe, just maybe I am getting all the bad luck out of my system and next year will be fantastic.
