Nice little stove. I think one that size would be better suited to burn coal than wood.

ReplyDeleteRob - I do not have a sand blaster but I do plan to do a once over with some fine grit sandpaper and then blow it clean before repainting.

ReplyDeleteJohn - Not to rub it in but this one is in perfect condition. All the parts are there and are working. The guy was using it just last month. There is one thing I am not sure about and do not know why it is even part of it. I will have to read about it I guess.
Texan - Ha, you were the first one to comment on the homemade wine. I figured that would have gotten more comments than the stove.
I've been looking for a stove like that and I did find it online and it burn coal as well as wood $399.99 at amazon.

ReplyDeleteI have always used "Stove Black" polish on mine, I think that paint would probably burn off. Love the little stove, it will look perfect in the bath house!

Shar - You are right about the paint. I painted my smoker and just after a couple of uses it wore right off. I will look into the stove polish, thanks.
Wow, what a cute stove! We were at a friend's house for the game yesterday and he had a (larger) wood-burning stove going. I grew up with two of them in my house - I miss them! My teenage self never thought I would say that, though!

now that is a great trade bargain...ever since you mentioned the "wringer" i have been seeing wringer washers (parts and working machines) as well as old wood cookstoves in quite a few of the junk stores and flea markets around here...matter of fact, i bet that over the last two years the flea market/junk store population has nearly quadrupled...hmmmmm, must be the tanking economy, ya reckon?

Anony - I wished I could find a old kitchen wood stove. I have been looking for one of those for years and years.
I have seen a increase here as well and yes I do think it is because of the crap we are in.
I'm brewing my own beer and having a blast. Some neighbors are talking about starting a little brew club.

ASR - Beer is the easiest thing to make bad and hardest thing to make good. I don't even mess with it anymore. Wine on the other hand is hard to mess up.
