"First Fruits Of The Year"

It may be later than usual and smaller than I would like, but I finally have my first fruits of the year.

What I do not understand is, why did it grow on this little stunted plant?

And not this big beautiful plant that still has not produced one thing yet.

  1. I have the same problem with my plants. Still no fruit and yet the plants are tall and lush looking. I don't understand:)

I enjoyed reading your blog. I'm going to put you on my list:)

  2. I heard that you need to stop fertilizing the tomato's after they set their first blossom, so the energy goes into making fruit, not plant growth. It has been so cold here in Oregon, that we are a long way off from harvesting tomatoes.

  3. WoodSprite, thanks for being added on your list. Stick with me this summer because things are getting hot.

Shegre, thank you for the comment. I do not fertilize with anything other than natural compost at the time of planting. I heard Epsom salt works for my problem so we will see. i also think it may have something to do with the well water I am using. I wish I could get the rain water system in place but with the recent events, it is hard to do any work. This weekend will be back to normal.
