Here It Comes

It's just right there, I can almost see it. YES, It's a cold front!!!
This weekend the temps will only be in the mid 90's. Get the jacket folks, it's going to be a cold one.
Plus, they are saying we have about a 20% chance of light scattered showers. In the big picture, that means my place will have a 0.001% chance of getting a few drops. Fingers are crossed that we are in that very small percent range.
Why do they even tease us?

Play time again this weekend. We will be cooking in Wichita Fall Texas tomorrow. It will also be the first time we will enter our beans for competition., fingers crossed on that too.
I would say to come on out and visit with us, but I don't know anyone who lives out there. It is a 2 1/2 hour drive from where I live and I wouldn't make that drive just to sit around and drink beer and eat chili unless I was cooking. Well...... I have done worse for less.
So if you are bored tomorrow grab your Coleman camp stove, your best recipe and come on out and lets see what you got. As it is right now we will be the only folks who we know, all the rest will have shifty eyes.

Be safe,
MDR

  1. Good luck! Hope it does rain on your property. Have you tried an old Indian Rain Dance yet?

  2. Drive to Wichita Falls to drink beer and eat chili sounds like an interesting proposition.I mean who doesn't like beer and chili that'd be very untexan like.Good luck and I too am looking forward to this dubiously named cold front.

    1. Well come on then, we will be at the American Legion post 120. Turn in is at 2:00. I bet you can even judge if you get there early enough.

The cold front may be weak but anything is better then nothing.

  3. Good Luck tomorrow!

Last night I was putting in my fall veggies and could hear a thunder storm off to the south. Not a drop of rain here though :/ The weather is amazing this morning! I'm going outside to clean up the mess I made last night while there's still a nice breeze ☺

    1. I had to try something to get it to rain sista.

I don't eat my chili. I don't like competition chili, it's too rich. Plus we don't put any beans in. The rules don't allow it.
So the wife is safe, this time.

  5. I was glued to the weather channel and saw the cause of joy. A pressure system in Mexico that will head up the western parts of your area. I yelled for Joe. Joe, OF COURSE, came to see and hear the good news. I wanted to call you! Run past your house yelling the news! anything!!!! Then I realized you might know it's coming.

In case it's been too long to remember: white rock = snow. Wet rock = rain.

Waving those chicken feathers in the air worked. Now open up all the barrels and hope they know what they're talking about.

    1. It's been a while LJ and even with the distant memory of a white rock I can still pitcher it.

It is too slight of a chance to measure up to anything. All it will do is increase the humidity. The system coming from Mexico is keeping the cooler air from coming on down. I don't know which one I want the most, cool temps or sprinkles.

  6. Yeah, I laugh at the "cold" fronts too. It's just plain hot here right now. HOWEVER! the mornings have been just slightly cooler and the acorns in the back yard are trying to kill everyone so it must be fall :)
