Easter Sunday

Rain for today. That is why I decided today I would take the day off. There is no need in fighting it. Plus I am tired.
Yesterday was a different story.

It wasn't a party or anything, I was just cooking some food and if you were hungry, then you could come by and eat.

I started with some solar skillet baked beans.
I smoked a couple of briskets in my wooden cold smoker.
And I even cooked some potatoes for potato salad using the Fresnels Lens.

BEB was home for the weekend and she finally got to use the Solar Bathhouse for the very first time. She said it was "spanken" whatever that means. I don't speak college.

Just a few more little things that got done yesterday,

I got the wood shed full of wood.
A new addition was added to the Mini Farm. His name is Roo
And it was such a nice day yesterday even the geese were having fun. I don't think the goats are going to like the taste of that water now.

I also got the stuff for the next project, the green house. I will be starting it this week.

Even though it is Easter, people are here buying chickens so I gotta run.

Have a great Easter Sunday everyone.

  2. I managed not to work on the Sabbath (was also Passover), or Easter Sunday (I prefer "Resurrection Day.") I doubt if that makes me righteous, just lazy!

    1. Gorges, I would like to exchange some emails about all that. The Sabbath was made for man, not God, and rest is a matter of opinion.
If anyone was lazy this weekend it was me. I could have done much more.
      Thanks for stopping by.

    1. It could have been better Stephanie but I really was tired and needed to take some time off. Even though, late yesterday evening the sun did come out and so did I.

    1. I have done better Kymber. This was the first time I used the wood cold smoker on beef and the flavor I usually have was not there. I was able to have a deeper smoke ring due to the cooler smoke but the fats did not get hot enough to give the meat a better taste. Other than that it was all good.
You will be disappointed with how I am doing the green house, I am cheating. I found a great deal on a kit.

    2. well it sure sounds like it was good to me! and i will never be disappointed and getting a great deal on a kit is pretty smart and frugal in my mind. can't wait to see how it goes! make sure to take lots of pics regardless!

(i just told jambaloney and he said "thank God" and sighed. i think it's because he wants to wait to do the greenhouse and if you started yours from scratch anytime soon he would feel like he would have to start ours right away too. mostly because i would wake him up in the dead of night and scream "MDR built his already" - bahahahahah! oh i am so bad!)

    3. Kymber I put the frame up last night and it is a little smaller than the one I was planning on building. I think it fits better in the spot I picked for it but it is still smaller. I think the one thing is, I have created everything out there myself and now I have a prefab right in the middle of it all.
Tell Jam not to fret, the planting station, solar dehydrator and solar laundry room is right around the corner.

    1. Sassy, I am on everything but the house. I cannot afford to do all that. So instead I do as many activities outside as I can and build alternatives to not use the house electrical.
      Thanks for the comments.
