Say Man......Do You Vape?

"What?" I asked a coworker.

"I asked, do you vape man?" He said pointing to my pocket.

I looked down and saw what he was pointing at and it was my new electronic cigarette.
"Ohhhh, ha, yup, just started." I said back in a matter of fact tone.

"Coooool Maaaan", He nodded and walked right by me.

What year is this? I thought I was back in high school for a minute.

This is day thirteen of no snuff. I have dipped Copenhagen for many years. I quit it several times cold turkey for up to three months, but always came back to it. There is nothing more refreshing than filling your lip full of a big dip of snuff.

The wife got me this electronic cigarette thing and a new juice that's called Red Man. It is a vapor that tastes just like my snuff. This here still has the nicotine in it, but it does not have all the other chemicals and my lip won't rot off. Plus the strength of the nicotine is variable. I am on a high strength right now because I just started. The next bottle of juice I get I will lower it. This will continue until I am using this thing without any nicotine in it at all.

At first I was against it because I didn't want to look like one of those fruity metrosexual guys you see getting there nails done and carries a purse.
If you don't know what a metrosexual guy is, it is a guy who clams to be straight, but likes to be pampered like a girl. To each there own I guess, but I didn't want to be even close to that.

So anyway, I guess it's more common than I thought. There are more guys on the job site that use them than I first figured.

Just in eight days my lip feels better and  I have found a whole new culture out there. Did you know they have Vape Bars? Yea, no kidding me neither. You go in, belly up to the bar and Vape. I never would have thought such a place existed. I am not saying I would darken the door at any of those places but hey, If a guy can carry a purse and were nail polish, then I can sit at a bar and Vape.

That's all folks,
MDR (a Vapor and proud of it)

  1. Congrats on your bold move!! My hubby quit dipping about 7 years ago so I can sympathize with your wife. I have never heard of vaping before...glad to see there is an alternative to dip.

  2. I never heard of "vaping," but I don't and never have smoked and don't have friends who smoke. I do know people who smoke, but we don't get into their habits.

    1. PP, I haven't smoked in years but I did dip. All this does is help me quit it by using an alternative method, just like the gum or the patch. Good for you that you never had any vices to kick.

  3. Good luck with it! I tried one to replace my cigarettes, and it just wasn't a good fit.

    1. Thanks Stephanie,
I really don't like having to keep track with so much stuff but it is a lot more healthier and saves so much money.

  4. Good for you!! The say quitting smoking is harder than heroin. Even if it's for a few months at a time....snuff,yuk, I once picked up what I *thought* was my soda...took a drink and it was a friends spit can!!! Well as you can imagine we saw that stuff again. Makes me gag remembering ....last soda I ever drank!

  5. Thanks Katidids,
I can promise you it is better the first time around.
As far as the heroin, I would not have a clue.

  6. My son just introduced me to this and I'm going to use it to try to quit smoking. Funny that the day he gives me one of these, you post this! LOL! Good luck and I'm right here with you! One thing I have learned about these from research is, for health reasons, try only to buy vegetable Glycerine based juice only. Stay away from Animal fat glycerine all together, and it should only have propylene glycol, flavor (which are natural oil based) as the other ingredients, along with your dose of Nicotine of course. If you see other ingredients in the juice, don't buy it... or that's what I'm reading anyway. What brand did you get? I can't see in the photo. Best of luck! Stacy

    1. Thanks Stacy, that is good to know. I guess I need to find out what is in the stuff I am using.

I am not sure the brand, I just went to a place called the vapor bar and got it. The wife has a bunch of different kinds but I don't have a clue about them either.

So far so good on this end. I plan to keep stepping down the juice every bottle until I am done.
Good luck to you. It will be worth it.

  7. When it comes to e-cigs, there are still some people who are skeptical in using it. It’s normal, because it may seem to be just another way to smoke. But it’s good that you still gave it a try. And as it turned out, you like it almost as much as what you've been using before. I hope you've completely kicked the habit, or at least down to very minimal levels or nicotine. Cheers!
