What Happen To All Those Days Off

Seven days ago I was so excited to be off work for the next six days. On the drive home I was piratically as giddy as a school girl thinking of all the things I can get done.
Today was the first day back and I do not feel rested, relaxed, rejuvenation or anything.

I did have a great time and had some really fun days spending them with the family, cooking and building. During those times I did fell stress free. I woke up rested and ready for the day, I went to bed tired because I was tired and I did not need sleep meds to put me out.
Stress free is an addicting drug my friends.

This morning when the alarm went off it was like all those relaxing days never happened. Instantly I felt tired, stressed, tense, depressed and not wanting to get up. Maybe that is what we call being a adult. Whatever you call it I don't like it, but I am thankful I have a job.

I wish there was a way to bottle the utopia of the drive home knowing you have the next week off work. Maybe they already do, I think it's called speed.

  1. If we just didn't need money to live! Even if you are very frugal, one still has to have a certain amount of the paper green stuff it seems.

I love when I go to bed so tired I can't think, when its from physical work I have done, not stress I have lived. :O)

  2. Thankful that you have a job. And like Texan said, about being tired, and going to bed from physical work.

  3. One of these years I'm determined to try and experience a week free of work, to take and enjoy seven full days away from my business. One of these days....

  5. Being retired isn't any better. Busier than I was when I was working. Besides that, when you are retired, you don't ever get a day off!

  7. MDR - i am glad that you had a nice week with your family and am sorry that it went by so quickly. and sorry you are back to feeling stressed.

i hate that we need that stupid green stuff to live...and i hate that most people only get a chance to "live" on the weekends. and i hate that those people should feel blessed and lucky to have "jobs".

this whole system sucks. and i feel for ya, buddy.

  8. Ok, I have an idea. Quit your job, live off of your farm completely, and write about it on your blog. Then get a bunch of companies to start advertising on your blog and make millions of dollars buy just working around your farm. Hey, it could happen. hehehehe

  10. We are running low on that green stuff with no jobs in sight. We have been working all day to reduce the amount going out. I hope things clear up soon. Making money on the homestead sounds easy but doing it is another thing totally.

Oh and that stuff never made life much better for me. Just helped me stay up and not want to eat. Glad I gave that stuff up many many many years ago.

  12. I have to agree Kymber.

That was and still is the plan SFG. At first it was a five year plan then it moved to 7 and now I am drafting the ten year plan. LOL

    You said it Rob.

It was working G. All the way up till last summer. We had to sell everything and then start over again.

I guess your right Duke. Reading to what happen to the folks in the book "One Second After" when they ran out of those drugs made it where I never want to be on any.

  13. That gives me hope because that is what we are trying to do. It is taking some to get it built up. We are praying it all works out. - Genevieve
