I Just Knew It!!!!!

I knew it was going to happen but I did not know when.
For the past week or so little things have been going wrong and the trend is, after a while the little things turn into a big one in the end. I have tried to keep a positive attitude about the whole think but in the back of my head I knew trouble was coming.
Today my AC in the house went out. It has gone out twice before but this time it is different, it is really, really out. It is the compressor this time. Of course it always has to happen on a hot summer weekend and the repair man can't get here till Monday or Tuesday of the next week to even look at it.
Everything we sold today plus a lot more we don't have will have to go to fixing the stupid thing.

I did it to myself. The wife got a new job, we are having a good weekend selling here at the Mini Farm and for the first time I could see a little daylight in all these struggles and thought we might just get ahead. I actually even cracked a smile for the first time in a long time. I should have known better than that.

Now we are back living in the pop-up camper. The house is sitting at 97 degrees inside and there is no way that can work for sleeping. I am very thankful we have this camper because if not we would really be in bad shape.

I am sorry for the complaining but I just needed to vent there for a second because if it's not one thing it's another. .

  1. Totally understandable....we have got a list a mile long of everything that needs fixed but with absolutely no money we are going to have to improvise. Things will start looking up . Just remember you have to have a little bad from time to time to appreciate the good even more.

  2. When I tell people that I refuse to even hint that we are starting to see the light at the tunnel or things are looking up, they say I'm being negative. They just don't get it do they? I thought we would be getting ahead but the boy came home and has to have $150 Monday for a football camp. It never stops. Congratulations on your wife's new job, at any rate!

  3. I'm sorry you're having AC problems! When it's hot like this, not having AC just messes up everything - it feels like it's too hot to breathe! Hopefully you'll be able to get it fixed soon...in the meantime, maybe it's time for a trip to the river?

  4. Murphy lurks in all our lives. You just mentioned yesterday (I think) that A/C is the one 'corner you refuse to cut.' Well, he heard you and thought,'A-HA! I'll zap his compressor!'

Don't give ol' Murph the satisfaction of not smiling, Redneck. He's just like a playground bully. Let him know he gets to you and he'll keep on coming ...DON'T let him know he gets to you and he'll go away.

If they are installing a new compressor, keep your old one in case any of it has scrap value. If they installing a whole new unit, definitely keep the old one as the copper has GOOD scrap value.

I hope your week gets better...

  5. ROFL HossBoss, you should try being named "murphy"! Talk about adding insult to injury, when things go bad here, they fly apart! MDR, I can so relate. I have gone without AC for the past 9 years and it gets unbearable in this dumpy doublewide quick. At least you have a back up.

  6. Thank yall for the comments.
Coley, thanks for the words. I know they will get better. I just need to vent sometimes.

Mandy, Tell me about the sports camps! We have had them and the oldest girls car repairs this month and that is why this comes at such a bad time.

Krystal, We went to the lake last night and let the kids all swim till almost dark. It was nice to leave these problems behind us for a while.

HossBoss. I was thinking the same thing! I should have never said I refuse to go without it. I did get a little laugh out of that one. As far as Murphy, That guy has been on my back for years. You would think he would be getting tired of it by now.
All I can do is smile. It really is not that bad. I still have a job, food in the gardens and a place to sleep. Oh crap there I go again, I need some wood to knock on now.

mmpaints, my back up is a pop up camper. LOL
But you are right it is AC and I don't know how you have gone without it. (Hat tipping your way)
